The kitchen is complete with a number of kitchen wares, vessels, containers, dishes and utensils made of metal, glass, wood and ceramics. Private: Model of a Nuremberg kitchen made of wood with three walls with a hearth on the back wall and a shelved cupboard on each side. The walls are painted white, the wooden shelves are left a natural colour. The floor is painted cream and rusty-red check, and the hearth is painted with imitation brickwork. The contents of the shelf on the left hand side of the kitchen include; a porcelain octagonal plate, a wooden game cage, a metal postbox with the name "Mehl" painted, a wooden wheel of cheese, pickle jar, a wooden cutting board and rolling pin, a green candlestick with candles, a green stoneware jug, a wooden ladder glued to the back wall, and a vase made of bone. Loose items include; a metal lantern with a hinged opening, a skillet made of white metal with a black handle, a copper alloy spoon, a sauce pan with a long handle, a wooden siv with a handle, a lead saucepan painted green with a stamped base, a spun copper pot, a thin metal pot with upright handle, and a wooden cage with three wood guns inside. On the shelf on the above the hearth there is a gravyboat, two white metal spoons and a three-pronged fork, and a grey ketlle without a lid. On the stove there is a metal frying pan painted black with foodstuffs in it, a lidded pan, a short metal tankard, a flower pot, ceramic tankard, and two guns hanging on textile supports. On the shelves on the right hand side; five metal plates, a metal pot and cup, a wooden orange and yellow bowl, spice box, scuttle, two irons, a porcelain tea cup, a wooden jar, a bell, wood stool, aluminium bowl, metal scoop, metal candle holder, wood box, a black and white dish, two white dishes with fruit, a serving dessert stand, blue speckled pie dish, a wooden bucket and scoop, a tray hanging up, a wood vase, a green metal jug, another wood bucket, fish slice and a ceramics dish. The kitchen was by a man called Mr. Hummerston. Originated in the German toy making industry used to teach girls how to manage a full size kitchen.
