Summary

Circular dinner plate with broad deep well and slightly curved undulating rim. Rim relief-moulded with eight leafy cartouches divided by alternating panels of basketwork and chevrons. Each cartouche contains one of two pseudo-heraldic geometric patterns. Cream coloured body sponged with manganese blue-black oxide bleeding into rich lead-glaze, resulting in mottled dark grey and cream pattern, with daubs of blue, green and yellow scattered around well and cartouche scrolls on rim picked out in green and yellow. Even mottled black to underside.
