Each cartouche contains one of two pseudo-heraldic geometric patterns. Cream coloured body sponged with manganese blue-black oxide bleeding into rich lead-glaze, resulting in mottled dark grey and cream pattern, with daubs of blue, green and yellow scattered around well and cartouche scrolls on rim picked out in green and yellow.
