Summary

Public: Dinner plate, cream coloured earthenware, with relief-moulded decoration of fruit and scrolls, and pierced basketwork border, beneath mottled green, yellow and brown lead glaze. Private: Circular dinner plate with broad shallow well, sloping rim and circular footring. Relief-moulded decoration to well, of circular panel containing basketweave ground and scrollwork within ribbon twist border, encircled by border of alternating trellis and cagework grounds and scrollwork. Three groups of high relief fruits on leafy twigs suspended from ribbon twist border around edge of well, fruits including apples and pears, and possibly walnuts and melons. Plate rim moulded and pierced with simple trellis basketwork, giving scalloped rim edge. Cream coloured body decorated in predominantly green underglaze oxide, with yellow basketweave to central panel, and yellow fruits and manganese brown nuts to rim, colours bleeding and pooling in glaze.
