Summary

Public: Globular teapot, cream coloured earthenware, with relief-moulded basketwork and fruit, picked out in green, yellow, blue and brown oxides bleeding into lead glaze. Private: Globular teapot on flat foot, with ribbed and leaf-moulded S-shaped spout and leaf-moulded handle with two spurs along length. Pale cream coloured body relief-moulded with band of tightly woven basketwork around base, above which is looser diamond trelliswork band. Piles of leaves and fruit, including apples, pears, plums, melons and grapes, above basketwork, spilling over the sides in places. Four narrow vertical bands of tight basketwork rise up towards neck, on each side and above spout and handle. Shallow domed cover with green flower head finial, relief-moulded with tightly woven basketwork forming top of basket handles, reserving four plain semi-circular panels around the edge. Predominantly plain cream coloured body, fruit and basket handles picked out in green, manganese brown, yellow and blue bleeding into lead glaze.
