Summary

Pear-shaped cream jug on three mask and paw feet, tapering to cylindrical neck with small sparrow beak lip and strap loop handle with pinched and flattened spur at lower terminal. Applied relief decoration around belly beneath lip of undulating and twisting vine, embellished with stamped leaves and fruits. Cream coloured earthenware body sponged with manganese brown underglaze oxide, colours bleeding into glaze to give mottled streaky effect. Applied relief fruits and leaves picked out in gilt, some of which is worn away.
