Summary

Public: Globular teapot on three mask and paw feet, cream coloured earthenware, decorated with applied relief fruiting vines, and mottled brown, green, yellow and blue underglaze oxides bleeding into lead glaze. Private: Globular teapot on three paw feet, with short cylindrical neck, short tapering spout and plain handle with spur at lower terminal. Body decorated with applied relief twisting vines embellished with stamped leaves and fruit. Cream coloured earthenware body sponged with manganese brown underglaze oxide with small patches of green and yellow to applied reliefs, colours bleeding into glaze to give soft streaky effect. Shallow domed cover (not original), with baluster finial and applied reliefs of squirrel and leafy sprig, decorated with mottled brown, green, yellow and blue oxides.
