Summary

Public: Squat globular teapot on three mask and paw feet with crabstock handle and spout. Cream coloured earthenware body sponged with manganese brown underglaze with applied high relief of undulating vines to body. Private: Squat globular teapot on three mask and paw feet, with crabstock handle and spout and turned collar at neck. Applied high relief undulating vines to body, lifting away from surface in places, embellished with stamped leaves and fruits. Cream coloured earthenware body sponged with manganese brown underglaze oxide, bleeding into glaze to give mottled pattern, feet masks and applied reliefs picked out in gilt, tiny traces of which remain. Flat circular cover with bird finial, turned border to rim and three applied fruit and leaf reliefs, decorated in mottled brown and gilt, small pierced hole to one side.
