Summary

Public: Pear-shaped teapot on three mask and paw feet, with crabstock handle and spout, cream coloured earthenware, with applied relief scrollwork and flowers, decorated with brown underglaze oxide bleeding into lead glaze. Private: Pear-shaped teapot on three mask and paw feet, with crabstock handle and spout, sharp flat shoulder and short tapering neck. Applied stamped relief decoration to either side of body, comprising central prunus spray above C-scroll, flanked by two rose sprigs above scrollwork. Cream coloured earthenware body sponged with manganese brown underglaze oxide, bleeding into glaze to give mottled pattern. Shallow domed cover with centrally pierced ball finial, slight flattened rim and three applied scrollwork and fruit reliefs, decorated in mottled brown.
