Summary

Public: Circular dinner plate with a shallow well and curved rim. Made of cream coloured earthenware and transfer-printed in overglaze in black with a circular medallion containing a rural landscape. Private: Circular dinner plate with shallow well, curved rim and no footring. Transfer-printed in overglaze black with circular medallion containing rural landscape, comprising cattle and sheep fording stream in foreground, herdsman beneath tree to right, cottage and trees in background beneath distant mountain to left. Beaded border within foliate scrollwork, six floral sprigs in five variations to rim. Pale cream coloured earthenware body with fine, slightly greenish, glaze, three groups of three stilt marks to underside.
