Summary

Public: Lidded oval soup tureen and stand, with twisted cord handles, applied relief flowers and relief-moulded feather-edge borders. Plain cream coloured earthenware. Private: Four-lobed oval tureen with bowed sides curving in to spreading four-lobed foot with relief-moulded feather-edge border. Double intertwined twisted cord handles applied at each end, two upper terminals ending in applied relief briar sprigs, two lower terminals ending with looped twist and impressed cut stem motif, two applied floral and leafy sprigs to either side. Feather-edge border repeated below recessed shoulder, surmounted by everted rim. Domed four-lobed cover with relief-moulded feather-edge border and twisted cord loop handle, terminals ornamented with applied relief flowers and leaves, two pierced holes to either side. Oval stand (not matching) with flat oval well, sloping everted rim and no footring. Rim moulded with undulating feather-edge border and irregular shell fluting. Pale cream coloured earthenware with greenish-yellow glaze.
