Summary

Public: Globular teapot with crabstock handle and spout and a flattened circular cover with button finial. Made of cream coloured earthenware and painted in red and black overglaze enamels with a veined pattern resembling marble reserving cartouches on either side which are painted with rural landscapes. Private: Globular teapot on everted footring, with crabstock handle and spout. Cream coloured earthenware painted in red and black overglaze enamels with veined pattern resembling marble, reserving scalloped cartouches outlined in red and black on either side, and small oval cartouche above spout. Side cartouches painted with rural landscapes, differing slightly in detail but comprising building complex and windmill amongst trees. Small oval cartouche contains fly. Flattened circular cover with mushroom shaped button finial, painted with red and black marble pattern, reserving two ovals, one containing rural landscape, the other a bird with wings outstretched. Small pierced hole to one side.
