Summary

Public: Globular teapot with double intertwined handle, acanthus-moulded spout and flower finial. Made of ream coloured earthenware and painted in red, blue, yellow, green, pink and black overglaze enamels with Chinoiserie figures in a landscape. Private: Globular teapot with relief-moulded beaded borders to footring and collar, double intertwined ribbed strap handle with flower and leaf terminals, tapering fluted spout with acanthus moulding at base. Cream coloured earthenware body painted to left of handle with Chinese woman in a garden, holding parasol and picking flower from vase on table to left, low fence to right. Side to right of handle painted with similar scene without table. Flattened circular cover with relief-moulded beaded border around central flower finial with applied relief leafy terminal, painted with two floral sprigs, finial petals picked out in red, yellow and black. Small pierced hole to one side. Cream coloured body with deep yellow crazed glaze. Traces of gilding to beaded borders.
