Summary
Public: Figure group comprising woman in classical drapery and man in armour, standing either side of central obelisk on mound of crumbling ruins, white earthenware with a pearlware glaze, painted in pale red, green, brown, purple, yellow and turquoise overglaze enamels. Private: Figure group comprising woman to left, in classical drapery picked out in turquoise, purple and yellow with brown and red floral sprays, standing beside tall central obelisk with relief-moulded winged figure and pair of clasped hands, painted with purple veins imitating marble. Man in brown armour and red skirt, with purple and yellow sash, kneels to right of obelisk, with sword held in right hand, left hand resting on brown shield bearing three fleurs-de-lys. Brown and green rocky mound base, littered with architectural ruins, applied relief manacle and chains, and soldier's helmet. Finely crazed blue pearlware glaze.
