Summary

Public: Urn shaped lidded vase, stoneware, black basalt, with relief decoration of the Dancing Hours. Private: Urn shaped vase with wide neck and spreading foot on square plinth. Side panels of plinth decorated with stylised rose and anthemion relief borders. Foot has acanthus border at outer edge. Main body decorated with the 'Dancing Hours', eight classical female figures joining hands and dancing, some carrying laurel wreaths. Lower body below decorated with large radiating oak leaves, plain shoulder above. Shoulder rises to wide neck decorated with acanthus leaves beneath a beaded rim. Two plain loop handles, slightly ribbed, positioned on each side of shoulder. Domed lid decorated with radiating oak leaves and stems of acorns, central acorn finial.
