Summary

Public: Rounded square teapot, deep red stoneware, with relief-moulded panels of Chinoiserie dragons and flames and impressed patterns of scattered circles and flowers. Private: Squat square teapot with rounded edges at shoulder and base, short straight neck and straight footring cut to give four bracket feet. S-shaped spout of square section and heavy strap loop handle. Sides of teapot relief-moulded with inset Chinoiserie panels of a dragon amongst stylised curling flames, borders, spout and handle decorated with scattered impressed flowers and circle motifs, with Greek key border to neck and footring. Shallow domed square cover, with four shallow relief-moulded panels of flames surrounded by scattered circles and flowers, within Greek key borders. Square button finial with impressed circle and flower motifs and small pierced hole to one side. Deep red stoneware with burnished semi-matt surface finish.
