Summary

Public: Amphora shaped lidded vase, stoneware, solid blue jasper with solid white handles and plinth, and applied white relief decoration of classical scenes. Private: Amphora shaped vase with flat shoulder, narrow neck and spreading foot, on solid white square plinth with blue dip on upper surface and looped key pattern along side panels. Foot has white tongue border round outer edge and beaded band at junction with body. Body decorated with two classical scenes; Sacrifice to Neptune, depicting Neptune with two figures standing at an altar; Sacrifice to Peace, a figure kneeling over a tripod altar with a statue holding an olive branch. Lower body below decorated with white palm leaves radiating out from base, shoulder above with guilloche border set into body. Flat shoulder rising to narrow flared neck, decorated with palm leaves and stems bound together round neck by band of hand-rolled beads. Flared scalloped neck rim, with two solid white scrolling handles rising from coiled paterae, terminating at shoulder. Domed lid with radiating palm leaves and and hand-rolled beads, spherical finial banded round waist.
