A Forgotten Lancashire Port (Sunderland on the Lune)

Summary

A calm view across the wide estuary to the port of Sunderland on the Lune in Lancashire. There are some whitewashed buildings on the waterfront and small rowing boats on the beach and at the water's edge. The buildings are skilfully reflected in the water. There is an air of desertion about the place, with a single figure in the small sailing dinghy on the water.
