Isabel Codrington 1874 - 1943

Summary

This is a domestic still-life scene of a kitchen table during the night, brightly lit by gas lamp, which is throwing shadows across the dark room. There are two chairs at the table on which sits teapot, cup and saucer, loaf of bread and plate, open tin can, tin of digestive biscuits and newspaper. A wardrobe is against the far wall with pans on top of it, and through the window to the right dark buildings with brightly lit windows can be seen.
