Summary

Boy's sailor suit. Green/blue velvet. 1) Jacket. High round neck; fronts each in one section, fastening with six gilt buttons (one missing) embossed anchor and lions head, and metal hook and eye. Back in one section, seamed. long sleeves in two sections, lined with brown cotton satin. Patch pocket at left front. square sailor collar attached at CF chest and round neck. Two blue corded silk ribbon ties (one missing) attached under front points of collar. Three bands plaited metal braid edging at collar and at cuffs. 2) Trousers. Legs in two straight sections, seamed. Crotch seam open for 3.5cm. Lined with blue and white striped twilled cotton. Bottom outside leg trimmed with three gilt buttons as jacket, six braces buttons at waist. 3) Braces. Turquoise cotton webbing with central maroon stripe, with metal clasps and leather tabs with buttonholes.
