Summary

Public: Flower vase with separate pierced cover, stoneware, solid white jasper with lilac dip and white relief decoration of arabesque and leafy borders. Private: Thistle shaped vase on spreading foot, decorated with a pale lilac jasper dip, solid white circular cover of one large and eight smaller circular holes. Border of white relief triangles round foot. Bulb of main body decorated with vertical strips of laurel border, flared neck decorated with scrolling arabesque of flowers and foliage. Wide loop handles extending from upper rim, ending in ram's head terminals on bulb.
