Narrow dark brown wholestraw plait, brown velvet. Lined with black corded silk. Sugar-loaf crown. Brim turned up all round, dark brown chip plait faced with velvet round inside top edge, covered with velvet on outside with narrow line of straw plait along top edge. Twisted velvet band round base of crown. 2 very large compound velvet bows at centre back, ends falling over back of crown.
