Summary
Black felt with purple ribbon, lined with black silk. Oval crown with soft brim turned back slightly. Ribbon round crown with tailored bow on side. Belonged to Heather Firbank (1888-1954), the daughter of the affluent MP, Sir Thomas Firbank. This garment came to the Gallery via the Victoria and Albert Museum, which has many others of her dresses.
