Summary

Quilted petticoat. Ivory satin quilted over cream glazed wool (calamanca), quilted in ivory silk thread. Six widths of silk each 44.5cms quilted in ogee pattern with deep border pattern of geometric flowers, leaves thistles and zig-zag lines. Each pattern in border fills one complete width of fabric; lining of 8.4cm widths of callamanca (68.6cms and 55.9cms). Ivory silk ribbon at waistband, into which the skirt is pleated with knife-edge pleats. CF has unpleated centre section, CB has inverted pleat; side placket each side faced with silk ribbon then faced wih silk ribbon; two patches of ribbed silk let in to side back waist.
