Summary

Thick white cotton woven to imitate quilting with floral border round hem; single section seamed at CB, hem bound with twill tape, gathered to shaped yoke of plain linen in two sections seamed at CF and fastening at back with two linen buttons; stitched up opening in each side of skirt. 1760's or 1770's imitation "Marseilles" quilting on loom widely produced by various London weavers. See RSA records. Made from late 1760s - 1770's petticoat.
