Quilted petticoat. Black satin lined with dark blue alpaca; hem lined with black figured silk and wool. Gathered except at CF to grey twilled cotton waistband shaped in point at CF, fastening with drawstring tying CF; front in two sections extending to side back, back in three slightly shaped sections; horizontal seam halfway down petticoat, tuck above, quilted in bottom half only in lozenge design; hem edged in black velvet; "HMU 1879" inscribed waistband.
