Summary

Cream flannel. Curved waistband of white cotton with ribbon drawstring in back half, fastened by two cloth buttons, straight flannel skirt with wide band of silk machined embroidery at hem and scalloped edge. The garment belonged to Heather Firbank (1888-1954), the daughter of the affluent MP, Sir Thomas Firbank. This outfit came to the Gallery via the Victoria and Albert Museum, which has many others of her dresses.
