Summary
Evening petticoat. Salmon pink silk satin. Top front consisting of two quarter-circle sections, curved edge darted three times to shape sections to bust, top edge pointing towards shoulder, attached to very narrow (0.6cm) shoulder straps; cups lined with cotton net, remainder of front in one bias-cut section, pieced with a triangle at bottom left; low back cut striaght across top edge and held in by band of elastic 3.25cm wide, in one flaring bias-cut sections pieced with triangle at bottom right; scalloped hemline with picot edging; label at inside back marked; "W. L52", labels at sideseam marked "REAL SILK GUARANTEED / A VALPERCY PRODUCTION / designed and made in England".
