Summary

Long strip of paper rolled on to wooden spool. Etched and hand coloured with 56 men in contemporary costume captioned below. Relate to larger contemporary etchings by Richard Dighton (1818-24). In cylindrical box, top and bottom missing, inscribed "Mirror of Fashion" over a mirror and musical instruments, between garlanded columns inscribed "Virtue, (?), Honour, Charity, Humanity", "Valour, Glory, Learning, Truth, Friendship, Music". Title page etched 'Published by William Sams, bookseller to his Royal Highness the Duke of York, opp the Palace, St James St, London, 1822.'
