Summary

An ariel plan of the layout of the Manchester Zoological Gardens at Broughton, Salford. Certain areas and buildings are numbered with their description being found underneath the plan. The gardens had areas for a variety of birds and animals, including gold and silver pheasants, armadilloes, bears, kangaroos, pelicans, pigeons, dogs, hawks and fish. The site is bordered by Broom Lane, Bury New Road, and Northumberland Street. Below the plan, to the right, is an image of a large, bow fronted building with steps leading up to it, underneath this is written "GRAND MENAGERIE".
