Hulme Hall

Hulme Hall

Summary

View of Hulme Hall, on a bluff above the river Irwell, near Manchester. The hall is a rambling, picturesque construction, with many projections, both stone-built and half-timbered, and with several chimneys, and decorative finials atop its multitude of gables. Its setting, on the low cliff by the river, seems austere, as the few etched trees are very faintly drawn. More deeply etched is the rowing boat with three people, which is travelling from the right side. The image has a curved top and bottom, making it a partial oval shape.
