Summary

Coastal scene on the shores of Brighton Beach. The viewer looks upon a short expanse of sand where fishing boats are moored; to the left, a man stands before a small brick building on the shore of the beach and looks towards a group of figures walking across the sand. Brighton's promenade is visible to the left and in the background with rows of buildings on the seafront. In the distance to the right, a long wooden jetty leads out to sea, beside which, small fishing vessels are visible on the calm water.
