Summary

Loose black trouser suit in wool/nylon/hair mix: jumper top cut with batwing sleeves reaching right down to side hem; curved hem front and back; shoulder pads; edges bound in black satin; matching baggy trousers, cut very high; matching tie sash; woven label, trousers side seam: 'Janice Wainwright'. Purchased by donor for a Bar Conference dinner in the later 1980s. Janice Wainwright was born in 1940 and studied at the Kingston School of Art followed by a postgrad course at the Royal College of Art. She worked with her own label at Simon Massey from 1965-8 , followed by 6 year's freelance, followed by the establishment of her own Company in 1974.
