Summary
Hat comprising an oval 'saucer', indented, and covered in black and white mottled wool tweed (the Countess of Wessex wore a suit in matching tweed). Saucer worn upright and decorated with a large full-blown rose in black silk and with an array of 40 black and white angular trimmed feathers as dancing 'antennae'. Covered wire horseshoes for fixing to hair/head. Labelled 'Philip Treacy, London'. Purchased from Philip Treacy by the Countess of Wessex for Royal Ascot in 2005.
