Summary

Very large overcoat in mock-fur (teddybear type); double breasted with 3 pairs of large circular mock tortoiseshell buttons; vertical patch pcokets; lined brown cotton sateen; inner pocket with woven label 'Simpson, Piccadilly' and handwritten, 46-52. Belonged to the donor's partner, Kenneth Lawson, and bought in London during the Second World War. The donor remembers Kenneth reminiscing about using it as a blanket to keep warm during the Blitz. See photograph of Kenneth wearing the coat around 1945.
