Portrait of seated man and woman. Man has smoothed back hair and side whiskers. He is wearing neckie, shirt, waistcoat, jacket and trousers. She is wearing day cap which is frilled, fastening in knot below chin; possibly broderie anglaise or lace collar. Her bodice has vertical pleats and her skirt is full. Outfit is made of silk. Centre front of bodice and cuffs are trimmed with darker material than skirt and bodice. The image is tinted. Gilt mount and frame, impressed red velvet lining. Outer case is wood covered in leather.
