Private: Squat globular cream jug on straight footring, with loop handle ridged near upper terminal, and applied deep lip. Solid white jasper with dark blue dip on exterior and glazed white interior. Side of jug to left of handle decorated with applied white relief, comprising royal cipher E VIII R, surrounded by two arms of a fruiting laurel wreath joined below by a scroll inscribed EDWARD VIII 1937. Side to right of handle decorated with royal crest comprising lion and unicorn rampant, either side of royal coat of arms topped by a lion on a crown and bearing inscriptions HONI.SOIT.?(obscured).MAL.Y.PENSE and DIEU ET MON DROIT. Handle and lip terminals disguised with applied wreaths of fruiting laurel.
