Falcon coffee service Designed by Susie Cooper, about 1938 Produced by the Susie Cooper Pottery Earthenware with crayoned and painted decoration The simple decoration of this coffee service shows a deep understanding of the relationship between shape and surface pattern. The crayoned and painted bands are carefully placed to pick out the curves and rims of each item. Susie Cooper trained almost entirely in industry, which she considered to be far more useful than art school. She became one of Britain's top ceramics designers. Presented by the Susie Cooper Pottery Ltd 1938.200
