Summary
Circular dessert plate with shallow well and wide curved rim. Printed underglaze with central vignette of a summer garden, comprising a central tree, beneath which sits a woman in a deckchair to the left, reading. A barrel-shaped trolley sits discarded behind her to the right of the tree. Scene embellished in overglaze yellow enamel, picking out the tree and two printed textured patches of grass. Printed border to plate rim of repeated S-shaped ribbon twists, overpainted with shaded yellow band, darkening towards centre.
