Summary
Evening dress in pale salmon-pink silk; sleeveless boned bodice in pink silk taffeta, fitted with piped seams at waist and in inverted v-shape under bust; pleated bands in organza running round the shoulders and across the back; bodice lined with pink acetate; woven label, cb seam 'Samuels, Manchester'; full length full skirt in organza with 3 attached petticoats in net, buckram and pink acetate; wreaths of stylised cream leaves embroidered in narrow rouleaux below the waist seam. Cream sequinned evening purse, carried with the dress. Worn by Eileen Topham at a ball at the North Staffordshire hotel around 1955, pictured with her fiance, Alan Chamberlain. Dress bought from Samuels in King Street, Manchester.
