Summary
Slightly globular Japanese tea bowl form with narrow foot, buff stoneware, dark brown tenmoku glaze with painted iron decoration. Throwing marks and lustrous sheen to inside, small lumps in glaze. Glaze thinning to rim, loosely painted abstract calligraphic motifs to body in rich orangey gold and bronze patches. Loosely trailed orangey gold band to above footring with two circular patches, body exposed to ring around footring.
