Summary

Plate with white ground, richly decorated with bands of underglaze blue (Mazarine) and raised, tooled gilding. These include an outside band of a simple gilt geometric fret; a thicker blue band with gilt horse chestnut leaves; a band of short vertical lines; a thinner band of blue with gilt leaves and dots; and further gilt decoration. The centre of the plate shows a blue circle overlaid with gilded dots and radiating flower motifs.
