Summary

Public: Part toy tea service, bone china, comprising teapot, milk jug, four cups and saucers and three plates, decorated with gilt rims and overglaze colour printed scenes of children playing, after Kate Greenaway. Private: Part toy tea service, bone china, comprising globular teapot with plain spout and handle, and ball finial to cover; conical milk jug with inset lip and plain handle; four inverted bell-shaped teacups with plain handles; four saucers with upward curved rims; three flattened plates. Coloured overglaze transfer-printed decoration, comprising various scenes of children playing in a spring garden landscape, including procession of children with a maypole; groups of children seated and standing beside fallen log; single girl dancing beneath blossoming tree; and dancing boy and girl reined in by older girl. Gilt edged rims and gilt details to handles and finials.
