Mrs.Creswick Atkinson 1947 Anthony Devas 1911 - 1958 Oil on canvas The War Artists Advisory Committee asked Devas to paint a portrait of Mrs.Creswick Atkinson, 'a lady who has done outstanding service in advising on shelter difficulties with women and children during the recent bombing'. Devas had been declared unfit for military service and worked as an ARP (Air Raid Precautions) Warden in Chelsea. Presented by H M Government War Artists Advisory Committee 1947.401
