Summary

Public: Globular teapot, cream coloured earthenware, with relief-moulded panels of fruit and leaves against basketwork ground, picked out in green, yellow, blue and brown oxides bleeding into lead glaze. Private: Globular teapot tapering to narrow plain foot, ribbed strap handle with outer spur at lower terminal, tapering S-shaped spout with relief-moulded basketwork and leaves. Cream coloured body with relief-moulded panels on either side, of leaves and fruit including apples, pears, grapes, plums and a pineapple, against overall basketwork ground. Panels coloured with predominantly green underglaze oxide, details picked out in brown, yellow and blue bleeding into glaze, against plain cream basketwork ground. Shallow domed circular cover with central umbrella-shaped finial, with relief-moulded basketwork ground and two panels of leaves and fruit picked out in green, yellow, blue and brown.
