Summary

Public: Rectangular tea caddy with relief-moulded decoration of four Chinese figures, cream coloured earthenware, decorated with green, brown and yellow coloured lead glaze. Private: Rectangular tea caddy with shallow domed shoulder and narrow cylindrical neck. Sides relief-moulded with Chinese figures standing against simple concentric Greek key ground. Figures comprise, repeated on opposing sides, figure in tassled hat with bird perched on left hand; figure in broad-brimmed hat with small parasol in right hand. Shoulder moulded with diamond diaper cartouches on each side against bamboo grounds. Deep cream coloured body with green-glazed corners, and yellow and manganese touches to figures and shoulder cartouches.
