Summary

Public: Two teabowls and saucers, hard paste porcelain, couples with landscapes and sprays of flowers in enamel colours and gilt decoration. Private: Two teabowls and saucers, hard paste porcelain. Shallow bowl with slightly everted rim, high, inverted footring. Saucer with everted rim, curving sharply down to low footring. Painted in iron red, purple, green, yellow and brown enamel colours with couples in landscapes, the inside of the bowl and underside of the saucer decorated with sprays of naturalistic flowers (deutsche Blumen). Borders of scrollwork and diaper in gilt. the figures on one cup are taken from engravings after J.-A. Watteau's 'L'Ete'. Those on saucer a are after G. Huquier's engraving of Watteau's @Lw Reos Gracieux; and those on saucer b from N. de Lamesin's engraving of c. 1735 after Watteau's L'Acordde de Village'.
