The woman's hair is arranged in a centre parting and she is wearing a lace day cap tied in a bow under her chin. She is resting her right hand on the edge of the table and she is holding a white lace handkerchief in her right hand. She is wearing a dark coloured dress with a full skirt over a blouse with a white rounded collar and sleeves. Above this she is wearing a black lace shawl and a long striped silk stole. The photograph is hand coloured with accents of pink, blue and green.
