Summary

Public: Teabowl and saucer, soft paste porcelain, transfer-printed overglaze, black, with garden scene. Private: Teabowl : slightly tapered footring, everted rim, transfer printed overglaze, black with two scenes on opposite sides of bowl. The Singing Lesson shows man and woman seated on bank, man playing flute, woman singing from open book. Right, tree. Rural landscape. 'R.H.f' to right bottom (faint). Other scene shows classical ruins, foreground urn, tree stump left. Garden landscape. Inner rim enamelled overglaze black band. Saucer : shallow footring, everted rim, transfer printed overglaze, black with whole of Singing Lesson, scene as above in one part. Man and woman seated on bank, he plays flute, she sings from open book, tree to right, classical ruins and urn to left, rural landscape. Enamelled overglaze black band inner rim.
