The Age of Innocence

Alfred Drury R.A. 1856 - 1944

Summary

A half-length portrait of a young girl cast with an integral flared base. Her head is turned to the left, in three-quarter view, with her hair ornately gathered away from the face; she wears a dress that leaves her neck and shoulders bare; the dress has a plain bodice and waistband with very full sleeves and skirt, which overhang the integral base. The bronze is mounted on a spreading, rectangular green variegated marble base, which in turn is on a wooden plinth painted black. The sitter was Gracie Doncaster.
