Summary
Couture acid yellow wool boucle 2-piece suit with collarless, short, boxy jacket, single breasted, fastening with 3 yellow buttons; matching short skirt; labelled: 'Christian Dior, Paris, printemps/ete 1965, 126406'. Belonged to Diane Kirk Blundel, a model, who married David Field, 2nd Earl Beatty in December 1959 aged only 18 (see going away outfit 2011.47). In the first years of her marriage she regularly travelled to Paris for the couture shows, buying mostly Balenciaga and Dior. After Lord Beattie's death, she remarried in 1973 and became Lady Nutting.
